Intent: Restoration of the historic First Street Bridge in downtown Roanoke and its conversion into a pedestrian-only facility incorporating an urban park which commemorates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The bridge provides a direct link between the downtown commercial/business district and the ongoing Henry Street revitalization and Roanoke's Higher Education Center.
